Default Help!! Brake problem on my Vr Calais!!

    Hi All,
Just need some advice on the brakes on my Vr. I just changed the rotors and brake pads on the front wheels the other day, now there is a click in the brake peadle. When I apply the brakes!! I have bled the system, thinking that this may be the problem. Could it be my brake booster? Any help would be great.
    Steve.

A click? As in, a mechanical click, or plastic being knocked click? Is it when the brake is applied when the vehicle is moving or stopped, or both?

When I apply the pedal, the brakes feel like they are gripping"not too good though" as I push my foot about half way down on the pedal you can feel a jolt in the pedal, it's very hard to explain. When ur brakes are good you feel the response on your foot as you apply the brake, but you can feel the car just wanting to move foward in this case.
Maybe it is something to do with the vacuum on the booster!!!

Id try bleeding them again.Sounds like there might be some air still in the system. Is the pedal hard or does it travel to the floor a fair way before they work?If the pedal is hard like when the engine isnt running and you push the brakes,it will most likely be the brake booster is faulty.Whereas if the pedal is soft and going to the floor a fair way before theres any braking effect then its most likely air trapped in the system somewhere.Has the car got ABS at all? If so you might have to cycle the ABS to get all the air out. Also have you checked that the pads are seated correctly. If one of the pads has come adrift, then it will cause all sorts of problems.Might be worth checking them again.

    Thanks for the reply's everyone!!
It ended up being a quick fix!! I thought that I would check the vacuum hose that is connected to the booster, and when I grabed hold of it the the bloody hose just popped straight off the side where it connects to the engine. Just put it back on and put the wire clip back on!!
    All working great now!!
One thing I did notice also, was that the rpm in the engine was running pretty high, about 1500 rpm, now it is back to 700-800rpm so it must of been running hard to keep the vacuum system running!
    Thanks again!
