Hey Guys,
Had a quick search, nothing that has my problem exactly though, this has been really bugging me.
When I start the car when its cold (very often here in Canberra), the engine has a very loud squeaking noise coming from what seems to be the belt. It gets louder as I accelerate but is still there when idling. Any advice? Cheers![]()
Anyone? Was going to try knock this over tomorrow..
Replacing the belt seems to be obvious to me.
You could buy yourself a can of belt grip from an auto parts store...
just replace the belt mate, only takes 5 minutes not even, before u take it off get a piece of paper and a pen and draw a diagram of the pullys and how the belt go's around them
to easy
doin skids for the kids and doughnuts for the grown ups
and use genuine holden belt.
the aftermarket belt a mechanic put on my wife's and my car both squeaked. complaint to the mechanic and he used some spray can thing on it and only worked temporary.
replaced with genuine and problem fixed
edit: if it still squeaks after that, at least one of those pulley thingy probably need replacing.
Thanks alot guys, How much am I lookin at for a belt?
genuine $50.80 (with air-con) for a vt. i remembered vs was about same. probably same belt.
