got a 95 vs commodore and the rear left wheel makes a loud clicking sound when accelerating and can be felt by people sitting in the back. jacked it up to check it out but couldnt see much then drove again and it didnt make sound but keeps coming back after a while. only happens when accelerating and stops when rolling and not accelerating. was thinking wheel bearing or cv joint had carked it but was told it could be as simple as a spring from the brakes had come loose. any ideas?
Could be either of those things. Won't know for sure till you have a look.

As above, have a look. Take the wheel off and check it all out.It could be a wheel bearing, brakes, tyre or if its IRS the CV joint, also check the suspension bushes.
Check that the wheel nuts have not been loose in the past and worn the holes in the rims out so the nuts don't clamp the wheel to the hub tightly enough.....this can cause your problem. You can easily check by inspecting the wheel nuts to see if they have been bottoming on the hub - they should bottom on the wheel rim shoulder.
