Hey guys, new to the forum and also new to cars. Not long turned 18 and brought myself a 97 VS commodore. (Will post pics soon!)
Just a few quick things that I am looking to do that I want a bit of advice on.
Footwell Neons - Are these hard to install myself, not very good with anything like this at the moment.
Removing spoiler - I was quoted $250 by a panel beater to remove and paint, cheap/steep?
Lowering - Looking at getting king springs, front sits low enough I guess, want the back lower but not to overlap the tyre and dont want to shorten stocks. Wht springs should I get?
Rims - What are the biggest rims available for a VS without having to lip my guards.
Sound - Have 2 6 x 9's in the back parcel shelf, and if I turn my stereo up to loud, like 9, I get a fair few rattles, any tips on fixing?
Thanks - Ryan
Just a quick one, what kind of VS is it? (Executive, Accliam etc)
Footwell neons are pretty easy, attach them with zip ties or remove the footwell cover and screw them in, then wire them up to the Ciggarette lighter if you want them on while driving. Or wire them to the interior light to only have them on when the interior light is
If your car is an Executive, check out my car thread, i have VL ultra lows in the rear and it doesnt even look low! be the judge for yourself
Yeah mate it's series 2 exec. and im no good with wiring, how many neons can the cig lighter support.
sweet ride looks very clean. i want my back to be just a touch higher then yours![]()
You've asked a few questions there, using the search button will answer a fair few of those.
As for springs, have a look in the My Ride section to have a look at the heights that some springs offer, but you can't really go very far on standard shocks if you want to do it properly. As for wheels, you will have more problems with wheels hitting the strut and inner guards before you have to worry about guard rolling, it also depends on the offset of the wheel.
I'm getting it lowered hopefully by a friends mate so I'm hoping that he knows what he is doing.
Thanks manMy mate had 6 neons hooked up to his cig lighter with no issues, im no sparky but it seemed to have no issues. Id be looking at some SSLs then for your ride (PS its live axle so make sure you order the right springs :P) My springs are SSSL so i reckon SSL will be perfect
