Default anyway to alter centeral locking modes on a vs?

hey im wondering if theres anyway to make my vs open all 4 doors at once instead of the drivers door then the rest of the doors, i find it very annoying having to push it twice, especially when its raining and my gf winges caus it takes her and extra 2 seconds to get in the car...bloody women

    all help much appreciated

    cheers

Try holding the button a bit longer, that works on a VT.

It can be changed with a Tech 1 scantool. It gives you the option to choose one stage or two stage unlocking.I changed mine from having to press the remote twice to unlock all doors (first press for drivers door then second press for passenger doors) to just one press to open all doors. Its in the BCM menu on the Tech 1 VS cartridge.Ive got my own Tech 1 so Im not sure how much it will cost to get them to change it,they should do it for free but Id say Holden will most likely want to charge you to do this even though it only takes about 30 seconds to do.

Try a few different Holden dealerships because prices vary a lot. You might find a more reasonable price.

Save your money - the VS owners handbook says: "if unlock is pressed once, only the driver's door will unlock. If unlock is pressed a second time, or is held down for more than half a second, all the doors will unlock"

So there you go, half a second can save you $52.

I have tried this on my VS and it doesnt work either.I wonder what the go is with some VS's working like that and some not.Its the same with setting the digital speedo in the speed alert, some VS's can be set to have the digi speedo on permanant with no flashing orange light, others can only be turned on to digi speedo with the orange light flashing and even then it reverts back to speed alert once the key is turned off.My mates is a permanant one ,whereas mine cant be set like that.I was thinking there might be a way to change this with a tech 1 but theres nothing mentioned in the tech 1 menus about the speed alert.Weird.

That's strange - it works in my poverty pack VS executive - touch the unlock and you get one flash and drivers door opens, hold the unlock button down and you get one flash immediately followed by another flash and all doors unlock.
According to the "VS Series Owner's Handbook" chapter 2-4, that is how it works.

I was having a stuff around this afternoon with the car and I was checking out the unlocking stages with a tech 1. I set the BCM to 2 stage unlock and I got the unlocking to work just how hako says it should from his handbook ,when its set in 2 stage unlock mode, holding the key down for a couple of seconds opens all the doors without having to press the remote twice.I tried this before and it wouldnt work and now it does, weird shit goes on with these cars sometimes..(it still doesnt open all 4 at once though, the drivers door opens first, then the other 3 open a second or so later, whereas if the BCM is set to 1 stage unlock all 4 open at the same time)

I have a VR 93 exec, i want to set it so that pressing once unlocks drivers, pressing twice unlocks all. Its a one button remote, so clearly ill need to do something about that. How can i set it up?

It doesn't fix it, but holding the unlock button down will unlock driver then passengers, just quicker then pressing twice.

Not sure this can be done with a single button remote.

You can programme a 2 button remote to a VR but only one button will work, so it's pointless really!
