hello all
just a quick question on the vs front fenders...
are the width of the fender to bonnet gaps adjustable? both fenders are equal gaps to the bonnet, yet they are slightly larger gaps then an average vs
anyone know if the fender bolts go into an exact thread hole or is it adjustable? anyone have pics of how they are bolted on
cheers in advance
bummmmmmmmmp
You might get more replies if you have the correct terminology for it. (Also, theres no need to bump every day, your thread was still almost the top of the list, so people would have seen it....)
Its called a 1/4 Panel
You're welcome

Front and rears are called 1/4 panels. In Australia at least.
In America both are called fenders. (like wise hood and trunk for bonnet and boot)

You will find it hard to get a response on a subject like this as most people wouldn't know.
Yep adjustment is there if you need it, I replaced the front guards on my VR 5L and got the gap wrong... adjusted it this way and no problem

LOL, if you rang up Holden spare parts and asked for a 1/4 panel, you would certainly get a REAR 1/4 panel. On the other hand, if you asked for a guard, you would get a FRONT guard. Stealthy, just because that's the way you refer to it, doesn't mean it's right...
I never say 'Front FLH... FRH...1/4 panel'. The rears I call 1/4 panels and fronts FENDERS or GUARDS.
In all my years with cars Ive never heard anyone from USA or Aussie call a front guard a 1/4 panel. The only time ive heard 1/4 panel is when talking about the rear 1/4 panels. The pommies call the front guards front wings sometimes.
I've heard one person call them a front 1/4. Personally I called them guards but each to there own.
Its the correct terminology for it. Each panel is 1/4 of the car. Front 1/4, rear 1/4, and the doors. You wouldn't say can i have a 1/4 panel, you would ask for a front 1/4, or a rear 1/4, depending on what you need. What would i get if i asked for a front 1/4 panel? Exactly.
Guard can be used to refer to either aswell, if i asked for a rear guard, no doubt i'd be given a rear 1/4 panel
Either way, calling it a fender was completely wrong, but thats been answered now.

And yes, logically the 2 doors make up the other 1/2 sections, however thats not logically correct when the car is a coupe etc.....
I'm not saying this word is law, its just the accurate terminology. Fenders they are not, unless you live in america. I wont bother replying again, i have some dead bodies to get out of my trunk and bury.
some people still think an LS1 is a 350, no matter how much you correct them![]()

A bonnet is a bonnet in Australia, and a hood in america.
A fender is never a fender in australia. Which is what i corrected the OP on.
(Also, lol your neg rep doesn't effect anything) (i should neg rep you since you think a bonnet isn't a bonnet haha, absolute gold)
