Hey the other day i was putting down my passanger window until it kindof fell off its rail and wouldnt go back up properly or go down properly, i took the door skin off and the scissor type mechanisn used to make them go up and down had fallen off on the roght hand side due to this the rivets hol;ding the motor into place snapped i replaced the rivets and put everything back into place how it should be but it is still farkt i think its because when ive puyt it back in itsd not in sync ith the motor eg. window is halfway up but motor is in position to be in a dofferent spot.
anyways my question is who specializes in this sort of stuff a windscreen place, auto eleco or ???? i have no idea and if it has happened to anyone before how much did it set you back?
cheers mitch

In a workshop manual it says if you remove the window winder mechanism from the door, to drill out the rivets and you can either use nuts and bolts to refit it or re-rivet it again.
Had this happen to my vx. I was in a hurry so didn't replace the broken rivet but i did remove the motor, set the raising arm halfway and then re-attached the motor, reinstalled and until i can get it sorted properly i just won't wind the window all the way down. I would say your best bet would be an auto elec but get a few quotes the price will vary no doubt. Sounds like you are on the right track though good luck with it.
