Bracket Finish

Hi all

Can anyone identify the factory finish on these brackets?? It's like a brown anodising - but I know it's not anodiseing because it's steel.

Does anybody know someone who can redo it for me. There's about 4 brackets in the engine bay I'd like to get redone.

It may just something simple like a bitumen based coating designed to stop it rusting - this givees a brown semi-see-thru coating. Try wiping it with kero or fuel...if it melts immediately it's bitumen based (like orminoid). Other than that I'd just call in at a panelbeaters place and ask them.
