So I bought a VS not long ago. Had a few problems. Bloke told me it just needed a new fuel pump and it'd be fine to go. He also told me he just replaced the starter motor.
So I get around to putting in a new fuel pump today as per instructions found on the net. Was a successful install but nothing has seemed to change. It's annoying me greatly, especially because I am stuck with no car.
The cars' battery is dead. I've been using jumpers to get power.
Could it have something to do with the battery?
I'm running out of options here. It kind of sounds like a starter motor problem but the dope said he changed it. Maybe he is full of it.
So the sound is kind of like a soft ticking noise. The belts are trying to turn but they can't. Tried to use some instant engine starter in the air intake and the plugs, but still nothing.
Any ideas?
Get someone to turn the key for you look at your motor if the wheels that hold the belt at the front don't move at all it's starter in which case the guy who sold it to you didn't replace it and knew it needed replacing. Otherwise it's your battery if it's a manual jump start it even if it is the strtr mtr if it's the battery get your alternator checked out as well
