Default Driving along and BANG! has anyone else had this before???

Driving along the Hume going to syd and there was this loud bang and the car felt really floaty and a knocking sound on the drivers side, get to the old boys, jack the car up, take the wheel off and... well the photo tells a thousand words.

so a quick question to you all, does anyone know if whiteline sell just the part im missing, or is a whole new unit??

    cheers

I don't know the answer, but shame it was a highway and you couldn't you go back and pick up the bits. All you would have needed is high tensile bolt and lock nut to replace.

Looks like you found the weak link - if it was installed by Pedders take it back as it will be guaranteed.

    cheers everyone

@v6lux: yeah that what the old man said, but on closer inspection the hole i was using is elongated by 2mm so it might be a new sway bar as well

@hako: no i installed them my self about 2 years ago

@Muttley: thanks for that ill ring them on monday and pick them up while im in syd for the day

Probably not required, as you can get it sleeved with some SS tube. Just find some at a scrap yard or steel store or metal fab business (off cut). Obviously make sure the tube ID suites the new HT bolt shank exactly and the wall thickness only needs to be 1.6 mm.
