Synthetic ATF

does anyone use synthetic trans fluid? if so have you noticed any difference over mineral type?

shuld only be running dextron III (3) running dextron 4 or 5 can harm the trans along with other types of oil like the ford stuff etc

I thought all Dextron's were synthetic?

My T56 box runs DexIII, I've changed the fluid twice (I believe it was still the factory fluid when I got hold of it). First time put Nulon 100% synthetic in, no better really than the factory stuff. Got the box rebuilt (for other reasons) and the useless prick of a gearbox builder put a hypoid gear oil in, despite me telling him specifically I wanted Castrol Transmax Z (I'd heard a lot of good things about it and wanted to give it a try seeing as the fluid was coming out anyway), after I discovered what a cockup job they did I changed it again to the Transmax Z and the shifts became much, much smoother.
