Hey Guys, im wanting to sell my 1997 VS II but my mums new, untrained rotty has decided to jump all over the bonnet and scratch the drivers door while i was asleep. Anyway, I was wondering will these scratches come out if I polish the absolute bejesus out of it, and if not what can I do to fix the problem?

From the looks of it those scratches are too deep to polish out. Not much you can do except see a panel shop if you want them completely gone. You can polish all you like but they will still be there.
cool thanks, any idea how much I might be looking at price wise??

Might be worth a try at polishing first seeing as you may need to paint them out.
Try using a cut polish first, then a fine polish to remove the swirl marks that may develop from the cutters.
A bit of elbow grease is cheaper than a panel shop.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
had a ****ing cat do similiar thing musta been on the roof and as they love to slide down doors with there claws out it left 4 nice streak marks on the small panel to the left of the door but they came out..lucky cat
what about that turtle wax with the 'lipstick like' thing attached, for deep scratches?

I reckon you could get the door ones no probs.
Be prepared to spend around $250 a panel for a paint shop.
As RX25SE said, give it a go first nothing really to lose. Even try 1200 wet rub and then polish it back up.
Depending on a panel shop quote it might even be worth while getting one of the mobile scratch n dent guys, they do some ok work at some pretty cheap rates..
You could try mobile paint repair-> Bumper repairs, scratch repairs, car detailing - Touch Up Guys
I have been told they do good work ... at least here in NZ.
