    Default vs exhaust manifold gasket

I just found out today that vs don't have exhaust manifold gaskets and i have a leak from where the exhaust manifold and head, so do you machine the manifold and some sealant or just throw a gasket on it?

i cant tell you if the s/c v6 are supposed to have a gasket between manifold and head . but check the face of the manifold with a steel straight edge , like a steel rule , and if you check with feeler gauges you can see if the manifold is warped. if the manifold is not warped you can put an even thin smear of exhaust putty on the manifold and the head , then tension manifold to the right torque. if you use exhaust putty make sure it is ok to use with oxygen sensors........cheers.

The standard exhaust manifolds use them as far as I know.I bought a VRS gasket set and it came with the exhaust manifold gaskets. But then it says in the VS gregorys workshop manual that the exhaust manifolds and cylinder head sealing surfaces must be in perfect condition as no gasket is used.So maybe you can fit them if you want or just leave them off. This is for the N/A V6 engine though.
