    Default fitting cruise control help

ive been trying to fit factory cruise control to my car, all the wiring was already there for it, the plug was in the engine bay loom and the plug was under the steering wheel for the control stalk.
I have fitted the cruise control module and a brand new control stalk it turns on and the dash light lights up so say it is on but it will not set/activate what am i doing wrong?? any ideas?? i have plugged in the relay that was missing in the fuse box.
I thought with all the wiring already being there it would just be a case of plug it all in.

any ideas would be great thanks.

thanks for that mate, by the looks of that diagram i have the electrical release switch missing.

nathanwright - mine had the plug taped up in the wiring loom on the passenger side, might be different to yours tho as mine is a VS 5ltr

no it a SS, it was taped but not really hidden its a large plug you will be able to see it if its there.
I had to un-tape it to get the wiring long enough to reach the module position, but the plug was visible whilst it was still taped.

The cruise plug is about 35mm wide 20mm deep and has about 5 wires going to it mate. Doesnt look like its in your loom from that pic.

There needs to be 2 brake switches installed. One is a backup in case the other one fails to cancel the cruise control for any reason.

Re the second brake switch - it can be "temporarily" bypassed by simply connecting the two wires in the (spare plug) that goes to the CC second brake switch so that it makes a circuit. Locate the plug - it will be close to the 'normal' brake switch and has 2 cables - a pink cable and a brown cable. Bridge the connector to simulate the brake switch. This is just a temporary test procedure to make the CC think it has the second brake switch installed.!!!!
