    Default fuel gauge issue

    hey all..

i have a question for u all. my fuel gauge is not working properly, now i know there are 100's posts about it but mine is a bit different..

it always reads empty and i get the fuel alarm constantly. now i tryed the most common fix ( hitting the dash) but that didnt work. today i noticed if i turn right sharp enough it works but soon as i straiten up it drops to empty again. i have 2 options, fix it or keep turning right.
anyone have any idea what the problem could be. i dont want to mess with tank if its a gauge and vise versa. and people are looking at me strange when i do a few extra laps of the roundabout to get a fuel reading.. hope it gives u a laugh like it does me.

Solder up the 3 pins with yelow arrows and check pin no 1 for cracks also.

The voltage regulator is behind the speedo/tacho inside the cluster. If you looked at the link and know what it looks like you will spot it as soon as you take the cluster out. The PCB green backing plugs into it at the top of the cluster.

Turning right tho sounds like the sender is cactus - but I would check the VR first to see if that solves the issue for you. I have pulled many many clusters apart and 1 in 10 would be OK - the rest of them would have a cracked solder joint on voltage regulator.
