Default How many temperature senders on a VR.

How many temperature senders does a VR have and where are they? Somebody told me there are two. One for the gauge and one for the computer. I can find one at the back of the engine. Is there really another one?

if your talking about a v6 i found 2 on mine on the weekend when i was doing an engine swap

1 for the temp gauge and 1 for the ecu

they are below the alternator in the front of the block

i think you would have to move your alternator to get at then

Well actually there is only one temp sender, the other is a temp sensor.

Thanks Guys. How do I tell which one is for the temp gauge which has been reading lower than normal? (Possibly faulty sender)

the temp gauge sender should be the one on the left , looking at if from the front of the car
it has a smaller slide on clip on it , becareful removing it as it will propably be very brittle

where as the ecu sensor has a plug like your injectors or alternator with a metal clip on it

i thought the one for the gauge was on the right when you're looking toward the back of the car?
