Hi Guys,
Did a stupid thing last nite and snapped the ABS sensor wire of my front hub.
Is this an easy fix any suggestions
If there is enough lenght in the wires you could try soldering them back together. If not, then you need a new sensor.
Either way, it should have turned on the ABS warning lamp and logged a fault code. This will need to be cleared after the repairs.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
ive done the same thing, i went down to my local ABS shop and they told me i had to book it in to get it replaced im hoping not, if i find any info on replacing it ill let you know
The sensor is not easily replaceable as it is part of the hub - normally the hub and sensor are replaced - wreckers have them for about $50 ea and new they range from $150 to $300 depending on country of origin. Not difficult to replace the hub as it is held on with 3 bolts. There are 4 different hubs....non ABS...IRS...non IRS...left and right and you must get the correct one otherwise the ABS will not work.

Wrecking yard for wires etc and just buy a new after market hub if needed.
