I seem to hve a bad fuel smell in my ute, I have removed the inner panels and have found a problem, there is 3 small hoses on the filler neck and only 2 are connected, 2 have small hoses going to a canister, and the 3rd has nothing on it, is this meant to be the breather and connected back to the tank somehow? There is a small hose on the bottom of the ute under the tank that doesnt seem to be connected to anything.
Any info would be great.
On a sedan there's 3 hoses on the top of th epetrol tank, 1 large and 2 small, these go to the filler neck, the small onvia the seperator which is clamped to the filler neck. There is also a hose fromthe filler neck going to the charcoal cannister on a sedan it changes to a metal pipe just infront of the fuel tank on the drivers side. Utes woudl be pretty much the same I'd think.
i had the same problem with my ute i had to replace the hoses
take the cover of the fuel tank and see if the hoses are f**d if they are replace them, coz that could be the cause of ya fuel leak
other wise for a quick fix, if u have removed the covers behind the seats coz u put a sub next to the tank put them bak and they will stop the smell coming throu
dad had a vs ute with a bad fuel smell in the cab it ended up being the tank rusted i put another tank in it out if one of the utes im wrecking and i fixed the smell
