$12k will get you a VX SS i wouldnt pay that for a vs even a series 3. Why has it been resprayed? accident damage no doubt.

okay then, nah it hasn't been in any accidents, it had the clear coat peeling off the drivers door so the guy just paid the excess of his insurance and had a full respray done, the car hardly gets driven anymore, has only done 2,000 in the past 3 years

is it a 5.7 engine, if it isnt, then its a 165 or 185kw engine.

It would be the 5L. Unless it was HSV enhanced (which i havn't seen one yet that was)
VS are rated at 168kw, but the VTs are 179, and the Series 3 VS have the VT motor, so not sure what the actual rating would be. Although that doesnt really mean much, considering aftermarket upgrades would have you more power than that quite easily.

OP has to ask himself, does e want power, or limited edition. If you want power, you want a VX (or more comparable, VU) SS, if your happy with something slower (but still fun) but a ****tonne rarer than any VX Holden, get the VS SS.
Also, what colour is it? Tungsten is the rarest colour, plenty of black or blue ones around. I'd ONLY buy it if it was tungsten.

The HSV enhanced are 185Kw as they have bigger injectors, cold air induction and upgraded comp. They are the same motor as the 160 what ever Kw. It is only that which is what makes them HSV enhanced. While i am here anyone able to tell me where the oil pressure sender is. Is it on the block, behind inlet manifold, or near the oil filter housing. Have Auto meter electric oil pressure guage and want to put it in but dont know where the ender goes. HELP please.

It's only a 5ltr has had 185kW stock, but it's had a chip put in it, has 215kW now, it's dark metallic blue, i can have it for $10k if i want, lowered the price a bit for family, still tossing up the decisions

Is it manual or auto? Id buy it for $10k if its a manual no dramas. Id also have a vs ute over a vu anyday of the week, but thats just my opinion, I love the vs utes, hence why ive had 2. lol

Good luck with ur decision either way.

Sorry mate, but that just isn't possible.

If it had 185 then it is HSV enhanced, which already has a HSV tune in it. Having someone else (no matter how good they are) tune it, will NOT pull an extra 30 KW.
