Hey guys
Ive just got myself a 93 VS 5.0L stato and i wanna do a few small mods at first ( because of low budget )
to get the beast up and running
I was thinking like cold air intake and extractors nit yeah whats your opinion?
cheers
definately start with the basics (ensuring everything is running well - oil changes in diff, tranny an engine etc and all fluid checks)
get some extractors
decent OTR cold air intake - i find panel filter is the best
decent exhaust 2.5 to 3 inch exhaust
if its auto maybe go a stage 2 shift kit
then a decent tune specified to your recent mods.
not even a couple grand on the above mods and ull be lovin the response of the 5L. Take into consideration that you got millions of options but i have only listed some of the cheaper ones.
yeah thanks
yeah it is auto uhm might sound like an idiot but whats a stage 2 shift kit baha sorry im new to the modding scene![]()
thanks mate
and it is series 2 btw
1993 VS Series 2?? hmmmm my VR series2 is a 94 model lol, double check the vin number, it will tell you if it is VR or VS
WAIT SORRY GUYS
HAHAH
1996 series 2 i got confused haha
sure you got a statesman and not a barina?lol
lol all good had a bit of a chuckle lol
so yeah, i probably have a budget of maybe 3 grand for now (im just getting my p's, ive loved cars for years and years tho)
hpefully 3 grand should be enough for mods listed above
also can u upload pics say to this thread without using a website?
cheers bro
i (L) your caprice ay
if your stato is a series 2 vs it should have the over radiator cold air intake allready. but yeah , change all the fluids and filters , do a coolant flush and change , new spark plugs and leads . new distributor cap and rotor , make sure all the drive belts on front of engine are ok and tight enuff . if you want to liven up the old girl get a greenfoam tune , then you can use better fuel like 95 premium or 98 . put a free flowing exhaust , at least a 2.5 " catback single system then your stato will run and perform well. and dont forget to have a look at ya brake pads and change brake fluid .........cheers.
