I need help please!

hey
ill be cruising doing about 80 km or higher and when i go to excellerate i hear a grinding or crunching noice under the floor.sounds like my gearbox or something.anyone got any ideas?

any help will be appriciated cheers

manual or auto? does it sound like its coming from the gearbox area, engine or diff?

its auto and its sounds like the gear box.i can feel a little bit of vibration in the excellerator

when you say accelerate at 80 k's, does the gearbox kick back and then the noise?

yea it kicks back then a grinding noise

Jack the car up and have a look at your drive shaft center bearing.. the insulating rubber could be pooched..

If it's not the centre bearing, check the rear engine mount although if it were either you'd imagine it would be heard whenever you floor it. How are the plugs/leads? - these can misfire when cruising then accelerating which initially seems like the torque converter clutch is failing.
