You can clean it, especially now its out of the car.
Go hire the carpet machine from woolies or watever (all you need is a wet/dry vac though)
    - Bucket of warm soapy water
    - Get a big car washing sponge and just lather it on generously.
    - Get a scrubbing brush, scrub the hell out of it, adding more water if it goes too dry
    - Then just vacume up the water and leave it to dry
    Good luck

High pressure washed the carpet this morning, waiting for it to dry to see the real outcome

For any stubborn stains, try white vinegar in warm water with a little dish washing soap, using an old towel just wipe over it a few times then with another towel soaked in warm water wipe it down.
I had coffee spilt all over my carpet, someone said to try the above, it worked a treat, only trouble was I had to do the rest of the carpet as it looked dirty compared to the bit I just done.

I used about a litre of white vinegar in the bucket of warm soapy water to do the lot, when finished I took out the interior light and left all the doors open overnight.
