Default What do you think of my tail lights?

    Hey all,

I just did my rear lights using 'Night Shades' spray from AutoBarn for $15.
I have 3 coats on the brake lights and used thin tape to make the lines on them (also keeps them legal).
I later tinted the reverse lights with 2 coats and the indicators with 1 coat.

Let me know what you think of them?

NOTE: These lights are legal as I got pulled over twice by police for general inspection Anzac Day both during the day and night, and the police did not mention the lights at all.

    thanks alot

LOL yes calais lights would look better, but that eliminates the idea of it all being cheap HAHA.

As for how to do it, just go to AutoBarn and buy 'NightShades' it costs about $15. The go to your car, tape off around the lights and whatever you dont want to tint and then just spray over the lights back and forth a few times. I got the lines in the middle by placing some sticky tape in the middle.

I think i may do a second coat on them to make them a bit more defined, i don't see me getting defected by them cos they still allow the light through. Was also thinking of maybe painting the part of the lights that bend around the side of the car fully black (bit like a vn) not to sure, I will have a looksie at it all tomorrow to decide what I will do to it.

At night they are just as bright as normal, only difference is when you look at them you see a bit of texture where i have the 2 lines and i think it looks really neat.

Any other Q's just ask and thanks for all the positive comments guys (y) and yes other lights would look better, but i don't have the $$$.

Once again, as for night time it looks good and looks a bit liek a pinstripey look. Pretty good and yeah, just goes to show what you can do when your bored and wanna try something different, gotta say it feels good driving around knowing it's unique haha, i'm pretty sure i will second coat it tomorrow and might upload pics. Still don't wanna tint over reverse or indicators though. wish i could make the indicators clear without buying new ones!

Reminds me of my old tail lights on my VL.

Would have looked better if the lines went all the way to the side of the light, not stopping in the middle.

Yeah it really would have LOL. that was my plan but when i put the sticky tape down for the lines, i saw the end part of the lights were already dark and was like 'yeah that'll run in smoothly cos then the lines will fade into the dark' then i sprayed the dark darker and saw the massive lines and was like, s***' haha. I am thinking today i will second coat it and will coat the side of the lights dark dark so it looks a bit like a vn tail lights?
