Guys i was wondering if on the ecu you can override the Tcc on a vr as i have put a new transmission in and it still comes up with the fault code, i have also checked sensors and reset the ecu but each time i hit 100 or more the light comes on.
The ECU itself might be stuffed.Try another ECU and see if the error still sets then.
yeh done that aswell and even with the other ecu the fault code comes up. could it be wiring prob?
Id say its a wiring problem. You have tried a different transmission, and a different ECU,it doesnt leave much else that could be wrong.Go through all the wiring connections from the transmission to the ECU and check them for corrosion or looseness, especially the connections under the vehicle that go to the transmission.
Did you use the correct 4L60E from another VR or are you using one from a VS (which has a different plug)
yes, i got the correct one, but if it is a wiring prob is it easy to fix? do need to rewire all the way to the ecu
It is probably easier to find the actual part of the wiring where its stuffed. The only way is to follow it from the trans back towards the ECU and look for shorted out, squashed, damaged or broken wires and also check the connector pins for corrosion etc.
thanks guys for the info i'll try to fix it tomoorow, hopefully.cheers
Let us know how you get on with it.
shall do, hopefully its a easy fix
If it is the correct transmission then I'd lean towards an open circuit TCC solenoid - this can be tested externally by identifying the correct cable and measuring the solenoid resistance to earth. It's grey/red on the VS...probably the same on the VR.
yeah im with hako its most likely got the wrong trans and its spitting codes due to the missing second solinoid that the later trans runs
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
