Just drive out the pins in the door hinges with a suitable punch or similar. Also drive the pin upwards out of the door stop strap.

And don't forget to unplug the door wiring first.
This is the sort of stuff that happens when the kids get into Dads tool box over weekend.

pop the door skin off, unclip all the wires in the loom and cut the straps holding them, pop the rubber boot/grommet out of the door jam, then pull all the wires through the hole and pop the pins out with a hammer and a couple of punches, they are a pain cos theres no room to swing at them but they will come out. probly weigh a fair bit so get someone to help lift it off. pretty well common sense, shouldnt be too hard...just the wires will be tricky.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
    PM with any info.

Or put a jack on the edge of the door as you take it off to take the weight.

how does it make it easier to put a door back on if the door card is off..? makes no difference either way
The loom does not need to be taken out of the door, unplug it in the pillar and leave it in the door..
