the VTII runs a much better tune than the VTI or VS right? that's why the VTII is quicker than the VTI despite having pretty much equal weight and power...
would a vtii ecu match a vs ecu? could i go to the wreckers ,rip the ecu out of a vt2 and stick it into my VS and reap the rewards?
Hmmmm We did this a while ago when we were tuning our VS with Dick from Dicks Electronics.. A number of things weren't quit conpatable with the VT-VX ECU..
The Engine light on the VS comes from the ECU, where on the VT-VX it comes from the ECU via the body control module.. so your check engine light will be on all the time..
The trip computer will be up to shit big time..
Air conditioning, engine fans, temp gauge, plus a host of other things I cant quit remember..
This is the sort of stuff that happens when the kids get into Dads tool box over weekend.

Or you could just get a tune for the VS, yeah? Much less stuffing around. The factory tunes aren't really the best anyway from what I understand. Anyway, the gain you will get from a VT or VX or whatever will be so marginal for the time and effort you put into modifying an ECU from another car to work it will not be worth it at all (a few KW?). I doubt the VT+ ECU would work at all without heavy modification. Plus the tune is stored on a memcal, not the ECU (although VX+ might be).
You've started a few of these threads comparing later models to your VS, it's like comparing apples and oranges. It's simple, if you want power, go after-market, don't stuff around with factory stuff from later models that probably won't be that great anyway and will get you next to nothing power wise. You're not going to get any benefit with stuff from Holden really. Look for bolt on mods.
Well they do talk to each other as far as the engine goes , But a lot of the plugin bit are handled very differently in the VT ECU as stated in the previous post.
We went back to the VS ECU with a custom 2 Bar MAP tune and made 240 Rwkw with our Supercharged L67.
Which was far better than the HP we done on the VT ecu. I guess all the plugin bits could talk to each other better..
