hey im looking into aftermarket ECUs or performance ECUs for my ss
anyone know much about em and what ones to look into so please help

What kind of work are you doing? The stock Delco ECU's are quite tune-able for many applications.

i wanna try and get it cherping the tyres in 3rd

If you have an auto this is going to require a lot more than a good tune.

For starters, do you have a stage 2 shift kit and corvette servo? If not, thats your starting point.

nah mate its a manual hehe

I could make my relatively stock manual SS chirp 3rd gear.

All i can see it requiring would be; 80 - 90 km/h, a boot full of throttle, 5.5k RPM clutch dump and no mechanical sympathy.
