Default Massive clunk in the front left with hard acceleration.

    Hey guys

    Fixed my Diff problem abit.
Now my car's decided to Make a massive clunk with hard acceleration, it feels like the car is trying to drive over the strut if you get what i mean.
I also get a clunk when going over larger bumps and the half moon gutters as you enter some streets.
I'm thinking the strut top is Shagged?

    Thanks for any help

I was gonna suggest engine mount but if its doing it over bumps i would be checking out the strut top rubber, or the sway bar link rubbers, but i would still be checking the engine mount just to be on the safe side.

Checked the engine mounts, They are both nice and tight, Sway bar linkages were done a month ago in nolathane.
So that could only lead to one thing really?

    Thanks guys.

How did you check your engine mounts? They can look fine but can be stuffed

jacked it up, did a visual check no damage to the rubber, and all bolts are tight as a nun.

Jack it up again get the car on stands, then place a trolley jack under the sump with bit of wood between jack and sump to spread the load and jack the engine up, if you have got a stuffed engine mount it will show its self when the weight is lifted off it. They can be stuffed but be compress and look totally fine by a visual inspection

I'd be checking caster rod/control arm bushes; both well known for failure.

I would check the engine mount still,

I used to get a mad thud noise in my VS ute, turns out it was the left hand engine mount (passenger side) it is extremely common for it to go, best way to check it open the bonnet, turn her on and slowly attempt a brake job, if it looks like the motor wants go out like and acrobat to the right of the car, it mean you engine mount needs attention

Gave it a good rev while watchin the motor and she isn't moving much at all. Not more than it should.

Was it in drive when you did it and have the left foot brake, you got make sure you in a nice open area, have it in drive and have the bonnet open and give it a increasing rev, not instant, just nice and slow

its crazy to watch, you would never think of the engine wanting to do it,

use the same way to change the mounts (jack under sump), do one side at a time thought.
