I have been reading on here and other forums that the stock delco ecu's are very tunable and you dont really need to get an aftermarket one to be able to tune it to suit your application.
I have spent the last 2 days trying to find someone in my area who can tune a delco ecu, NO ONE this side of brisbane.
I dont really want to have to drive 6 to 7 hours just to get a tune done on my car.
Tonight i find someone not too far away who has the KALMAKER program but this guy wants $1150 to tune it. ( not bloody likely).
All the dyno places i rang over the last 2 days all just said straight up " nah mate you'll have to change the ecu" we'll sell you one prices ranged from $1150 to $3000.
If the delco computers are so good why doesn't many people tune them, and the ones who do charge like a wounded bull.
Chiptorque want $650 for a mail order memcal (WTF)
I have not severly modified the engine, it has a few minor mods and all i want is a tune up to liven it up a bit without having to have an arm and leg amputated
Am i going to have to bite the bullet and drive 6 of 7 hours and then get charged a small fortune or do i just find a secondhand haltech ecu or the like and have the local guys tune it ( probably cost a small fortune aswell)
Is this the general cost for a minor tune or am i gettin screwed???
Any input will be greatly appreciated
