Remove ungodly grit from wheels?

hey all. I got some kind of black grit on my wheels which is near impossible to get off. Tried a bunch of chemicals and soaps and degreasers and such... nothing.

Anyone have a solution?

If degreaser hasn't removed it then your chances are limited, got pics? Is it on the side or the middle? Just stick black tyre shine on the sides and do a burnout or two to clear the middle :P

The "Olympic Clean" crap I use at work tends to do a pretty good job when coupled with enough elbow grease. Maybe post up a pic

we have acid wheel cleaner at work have not seen a mark it couldnt get off a wheel yet
