    Default Clubsport Wheel width?

    Hi guys

I'm looking to buy a set of 2nd hand wheels that came off either a VR or VS Clubbie. The bloke claims they're 9inches wide, and I'm in a different city so I can't check to be sure.

My question is: Did the VR/VS Clubbies come with 17x9" wheels as either standard or an option? 9" seems a little wide for a mid-90's 17" wheel, so I thought the easiest way to know for sure is to know whether HSV even made them 9" wide. Anybody know?

    cheers heaps

dont think so - 9" wide?? Maybe copies or replicas of some sort - as in they may well be 9" wide - just not the real deal.

    I have 16 x 7" CS rims on my car. 17 x 8" maybe around.

The Group A did not even come with 9" rims.

guys an 8" wheel if measured across from outer lip to outer lip will measure 9". The flange on the outer edges of the wheel are ~12mm ea which adds an inch to the measurement. If the wheel is loose and he's simply got a tape measure onto the rim and told you it's 9" then its actually an 8" rim.

Regardless of all of that, the diameter and width will actually be stamped on the inside of one of the spokes anyway.

    Also the VR/VS Clubby's had 17x8" rims.

Awesome guys, thanks heaps for that. Another question answered on here

Turns out they're actually off a VT Clubbie, although I don't think they'd be 9" wide on on of those either. Might move/re-post the thread to the VT section anyway.
