Arrow Side indicators glued on help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, my mate just bought a vr commodore freshly sprayed and the previuos owner told they painter to glue the side indicators on coz the clip snapped instead of buying new indicators.
From memory i think the glue used was called or sounded like nurofane, the painter was no help he just said leve them coz the glue is too strong and may cause the paint to peel etc.

does anyone know how i culd get them off without damaging the paint coz he wants to put clear ones on, should i try the fishing line trick? any suggestions much appreciated. cheers

how fresh is the paint? i'd say if you are deadset keen to change them to clear then very very carefully try fishing line, because it is glue maybe try getting a heat gun or hair dryer and very lightly heating it up (obviously not to the extent that you are heating the panel too much) this may make the glue a little less adheared? um other than that i dunno mate its a tricky one because the paint is obviously still fresh and not baked like from factory i reckon you will have a high chance of damaging it
