Try giving a squirt of WD40 on that spring and shaft on the throttle body, maybe even un-clip the cable, and work the butterfly for a while while giving it a few squirts.
Could also try the spring on the accelerator pedal too, if that's where it feels like it also might be binding.

It 'shouldnt' be faulty if it was working before, but to be sure, disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body, and try working it by hand, see how it feels.
The spring will probly have a lot of tension, but still turn freely, without binding or grabbing at any spot from closed to wide open.
If it's not that, and it's not the heavy spring on the accelerator pedal, then it could be the cable itself.
Could try squirting some WD40 on some of the exposed section of the cable, then work the cable in and out of the casing, to work the WD40 inside.
Try this at both ends of the cable, if you can get to both ends.

lol.. Yeah it can be a pain to unhook. On the fire wall, the bracket that holds the accelerator, has a spring on it.
This is all close to the carpeting, make sure none of the carpet or underlay is binding in the spring area, or where the cable moves in & out through the firewall.
Probly the easiest way to test would be to unclip the cable at the throttle body, then try the accelerator, if it's still stiff, it's the accelerator spring, or somewhere around there that's binding.
If it's lighter, then it's the throttle body spring or shaft that's binding up, and would probly just need a squirt to free it up.
