New alterator=More power..possible?

hey guys
recently replaced my shagged alternator with a fully reco'd one. and it definetly feels like its faster. picks up better. is this possible? because it certainly feels different from when i had the other one in?

The bearings in the old one might have been stuffed and dragging a bit which would load up the engine slightly.Also the ignition system is probably getting better voltage and therefore producing a better spark at the sparkplug,which would give better and more complete burning of the fuel/air mix.
