seriously thought someone might have an idea since its a commodore sight :S
an old mate i know said he had a vn sedan that used to do the same an he had to disconnect the battery at night because it would drain itself over a long time like over night... what would that mean?
anyone....?

Where abouts is the click coming from, engine or the passenger sider kick panel
it could only be really the computer.....even more common the CRANK ANGLE SENSOR
Do and error check,
and find out what code you get
What's the battery voltage? - anything under 12.6 is suspect. Also check the battery terminals for tightness...also large cable to starter motor. Try pressing the unlock button on the key whilst the key is in the keyhole.....then turn to start. Try starting in N instead of P (inhibiter switch may be dodgy). If no suggestions made are of help please supply more info. Good Luck.
thanks heaps guys. it still starts but next time it does it ill find the clicking... still struggles
whats the crank angle sensor...where is it an how do i error check it lol
and ive unplugged my glovebox light an interior light and still doing it uhhh

A CAS fault won't cause a no crank situation.
Check the battery voltage when trying to start the car. It should drop to no less then 10V and recover back to the 12.6V within a few seconds. Slow recovery is a battery fault. Check the level of acid in the cells too - if necessary, top up with deionised water until you just see the "eye" as the meniscus forms on the level indicator in each cell.
To check the cable to the starter motor, check the voltage between the battery +ve post and the +ve terminal at the starter motor while cranking. Should be no more than 0.1-0.2V. Also check for any voltage drop on the earth cable between the engine and battery, same method, engine cranking.
If that's all OK and there's nothing drawing charge out of the battery overnight it's probably a dying battery but may be a dying starter motor.
