yeh mate is probably easier to get it out all together

take out your radiator so you dont damage it and its easier anyway, be careful of the air con condensor at the front you dont damage that , i normally slide a bit of ply in front of it

take off the throttle body and bracket as well, gives you more clearance on the rear

remember if its auto you are going to have transmission fluid pouring out the back of the box, so plug it up the best you can

you can buy the fluid retaining tools as in the pic below and are only about $8 , bursons etc should have them or can order them in

ok cheers mate! yeh its auto if i dont get 1 of them il just shove a rag up there/ drain all the oil . the engine im puttin in dosnt have aircon so ill probs end up taking the condensor out.

just wanted to make sure they both come out at the same time cuz im renting a engine hoist. n didnt wanta have to seperate them half way threw lifting it out lol

Just suggesting it but this is how I dropped the motor+box out of my wreck.
Un do all the gearbox cross member bolts, Tail shaft etc, Disconnect everything on top.
Un do strut towers and k frame bolts, Lift the car up, Motor and box sitting there on the k frame. easy to wheel around and all.

Not such a good idea when doing an engine change, unless this is a show car and want to clean everything!

17UCK!, Also keep in mind the 2 Auto cooler tubes than go to the radiator. They are a real pain to not damage for the complete removal. If you intend to keep them, take them off first.

Also get 2 car ramps and lift front wheels of the ground to work, then roll it off when your ready to lift.

You can knock the yoke out of the front of the tailshaft uni for a cheap oil stopper. It does the job perfectly, just watch you dont pull it out as you slide the engine out.

I recently did one myself, (on sand) not the tranny though, so the cooler tubes are a real BASTARD to undo from the auto!
