The chime sounds when either the handbrake is on and the vehicle is moving. If it is low on fuel,(when the fuel light comes on), and Im not 100% on this last one but I think some models beep when the engine overheats. The handbrake switch being out of adjustment is a fairly common thing though. As for things that can stuff up in behind the dash and cause this, theres a guy on here, 88GreenVN who knows all there is to know about these dashes and their setup and stuff. He will probably know what it might be if something is actually wrong with the dash itself.

I'd say you have the beginnigs of a bad connection (cracked solder joint in the voltage regulator) or the PCB on the backing of the cluster may be sus. That if it's the cluster.
It may also be the handbrake switch not making contact. -->>> look here for codes on beeps. Beeps

Mine does this. If you have the car in park, handbrake on and rev it over about 2500rpm, makes thi beep noise, different to the low fuel alert noise.
yea its differnt to the low fuel noise but similiar.. i rekon thats it, tempermental fu#@er..
