Hey guys, posting on behalf of a mate.
Basically the car drives fine when the car was just started, running cold, after about an hour or so the trans starts slipping and is not driveable
any ideas of what i could be?
trans service ie full flush and new filter with gasket. No joy, off to the auto reco guys unless it has computer problems at temperature
First I'd check the trans fluid level. If this is OK then I'd do as graham7773 suggests remembering that it will cost about $200. A reco will cost about $2000...2nd hand about $400...or last resort is add a can of "trans stop slip" at $15. Good Luck.
thanks for the advice guys, didn't know about the stop slip stuff might give that a go.
cheers
i have the same problem with my car, works good when its cold then slips when its hot.\
do you think maybe the trans isnt getting any air out so it cant breathe?
also hyow do you check if the computer has problems like how do you check error codesw or whatever?
basically your tranny is stuffed - if you need to add an additive you are just delaying the inevitable. sorry for the bad news.
