    Default Transmission pump out line to cooler.

    I have picked up a real bargain for a external trans cooler so could someone please tell me which line from the trans is the pump out line to the radiator trans cooler, does it pump to the top or bottom of radiator trans cooler ?
    Also I am thinking about by passing the radiator trans cooler as it just cost my brother about $ 3,000 for his 4 year ford as his radiator trans cooler shit itself letting coolant through the trans lines, anyone know how common is this in our model Holdens ?, mine still has the original radiator, someone said it is very common in Fords but rare in Holdens.

    appreciate any advise
    thanks

    It pumps into the bottom of the rad an returns out the top,,

    Im personally bypassing the factory cooler but only because my rad is buggered, previous owner bent the bottom of it so i don trust it.
    (also the pics in my thread are the old ones the cooler sits lower down in the bar now)

    Just wondering about what you guys think is the best place to position the extra cooler, I was thinking about putting it a couple inches out from the radiator and to the very top right hand side [ looking at the car from the front ] , thought about in the middle but wouldn't it muck up the air flow to the radiator, that way ?

    If you look at the pic in my thread you'll see the cooler in its first position that i had it, an i thought that maybe it wasn the best spot because the factory cooler is in the lower half of the rad, (pretty sure thats correct) so i moved the cooler down a lil an now it sits in the middle of the front bar right at the bottom of the rad. look at the pics below, easier then explaining.
    from the top;

    From the front. hard to get a pic of:

    lower outlet on transmission casing is the feed line that goes to the bottom nozzle or pipe on the radiator . the top nozzle on the radiator is the return back to the transmission , top outlet on transmission caseing .
