Hi all,
I am having an issue with the check engine light in my VS Clubby. Found this the other night when i was trying to do a fault code check. Have changed the globe over a number of times. Doesnt even do the test when the key is first turned on. All of the other lights work though when it does the check.
Any ideas of where to start looking? I have inspected the back if the cluster for damage, and everything seems to be in good order.
Cheers

What pins in the ALDL connector are you bridging? The light should definitely come on with the ignition key on accessories.Maybe turn the igniton key on with the cluster removed and test if there is any voltage at the engine light wiring connector with a multimeter. The engine light wire is coloured brown/white.The check engine light goes to the blue ECU connector number F5,you can check it for voltage there at the ECU connector as well.

Hi Mate,
Bridging 5 & 6 on the top row. The fact that it doesnt come on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on is strange, when all of the other warning lights do. The owners manual does say it is meant to check at start up as well. Will do this multimeter check on the weekend. Thanks for the help!

Does you car have any modifications such as an aftermarket ECU? Sometimes these raise DTCs and set the engine management light on, so tuners disconnect the wire at the Holden ECU.
