Ohk iv got a manual vn commy and i want to put the motor and box in my auto vs ( i know the old motor into a new car but i dont wanta pay 500 bux 4 a flywheel) my plans also are to put the ecotec topend (inlet manfold coilpacks ect )onto the vn motor, now what problems al im going to cum accross with putting the vn motor and box in to my vs cheers
im pretty sure the top manifolds are different between the two models and are costly to inter change. and my mate put a vn 5 speed behind a vs eco tec and im pretty sure he used the vn fly wheel and it works fine unless you have a series one vn motor which is the six bolt item
yea its a series one motor thats y im try and use the motor so i dnt have to find and pay 4 a manual series 2 flywheel if the ecotec manafold is differnt ill put a series 2 manfold on then, i know that they fit, iv done them a few times
I imagine it would be considerably cheaper to get a second hand flywheel than do what your proposing, not to mention the fact that it is illegal and the ecotec is better on fuel which will save u the extra money you spend getting a flywheel. my 2c
Ecotec top end will not fit a buick. Valve spacing is all wrong, and I believe the deck height is different between the two.
There is no option to use a S1 Manual motor in front of any auto, unless you are good at making adapters yourself, as far as I'm aware
no i want to use the s1 motor and manual box i want get rid of the auto
Mate it'd be heaps easier given the rarity of the parts to just buy a factory manual vs.
There's quite a few to choose from
Go with a t5 over the getrag if you can!!
If you really want to do it, you will need to swap the entire VN motor into the VS. You will also need the exhaust, loom, ECU swapped as well. It would be a sh!tload easier to get a manual flywheel.
