vs speed signal

Hi,
just wondering about the speed signal wiring to suit vs v6 auto.

I replaced the cluster in a freinds car with a non working speedo,
and since replacing it, still has no speedo.

So now im looking at tracing the wiring back,
I've located a wiring diagram but am just wondering what i would be checking for at each wire?
Does it have a 12volt pulse going to the dash?
would I be able to check this with a test light?

Is there any other common problems apart from the cluster to cause the speedoe to not work?

also the speed alert does not work either.

Quite possibly it's the vehicle speed sensor that's either failed or the wiring and/or connector has failed. First do a error codes check - if it comes up with a code 94 it indicates the sensor is faulty. There is a test for the sensor and wiring in the Gregory manual.
