Question Strange v8 Vr SS Firing Order?

My mate done my dissy button leads and plugs today and said he's never seen this before.

    The normal 5 litre firing order is something like 12784563, but my firing order is 1 8 7 3 6 5 4 2

    Any ideas or explanations?

    Wot??

    How does it run?

Have you tried the factory firing order.
The std dizzy should have a notch in the top edge of the body which aligns to the line in the centre of the rotor tip.

At TDC firing on number one, all this should then be pointing to either the number one cylinder (or opposite number one cylinder I can't remember which). Confirm?

Yeah it runs perfect man the bloke who done everything was a head mechanic at holdens, and he said he's never seen it before.

Edit: No i havnt tried normal firing order, yet, the block "apparently" is out of a wb 1980 v8, but wouldnt make a difference. Will try the normal firing order tomorrow, just got me wondering why it was such a strange order

I wonder why it runs so well? The companion cylinders dont even match.

Could it have a special camshaft???

    Strange.

On the 7th day, God created Holden, then on the 8th day, God created Ford, to keep idiots out of Holden's.
