    Default Help with this please

ok there was a clanging noise coming out of the left passenger side tyre and under inspection it is a little metal disc where the bush is behind the suspension strut on top of a long skiny bar i dont know how it came loose but it is, now my question is how do i fix this so it sits back in place.

Sounds like the link pin bushes.
Easy job to do at home if you have a few tools and jack stands.
Have a search on here and you should find plent of threads showing how it is done.

Thanks mate, yeah i looked up what pin bushes are and thats what i'm talking about (thats the problem I have, no idea what things are called just now what they do lol i need pics to fill me in lol), the top of it where the bush sits between 2 plates is loose and that causes the clanging sound going over bumps and the bush on the bottom looks all squashed and rooted pretty much so i will probably have to replace that to, is there any intricate way of replacing these or is it just straight forward.

Thanks for your help in advanced guys big help this website i like it alot.

Mate get yourself a workshop manual ,gregorys are the best if you cant get hold of a factory workshop manual. The first time you use it to fix or service something it will have paid for itself.Well worth it for anyone wanting to repair/service their own cars. I mainly use mine nowdays for looking up the nut, bolt or stud tensions when tightening up various components.

Get an after market set replacement set of sway bar links, they are typically thicker and much better. The Nolathane ones are pretty good, and you should be able to get a set at most auto stores. Shouldn't cost you too much either.

Yeah,I noticed the way that you explained the parts on your car, the" little metal disc" and the "long skinny bar" etc.You will learn heaps from these books, and you know the job is done properly if you do it yourself using these books, and they save you heaps. You can get them at auto stores like supercheap or auto one etc,I think some k-mart and big w shops sell them too.Try to get a gregorys brand one. They are better than the other ones(except for the factory manuals obviously).Cheers.

Here's some pic's from when i done it if you need them. Just remember when you tighten them the wheels have to be on the ground or you can have the front end on ramps.

    My 1989 VN.

I got mine off ebay, but i would give gslrallysport in the sponsers section a pm about some new ones Im pretty sure they dont sell them separatly anyway.
