I recently just bought a vr wagon, just as a work car , and it has alot of klms on it ,350000+. but i got it cheap.. the problems i am experiencing are....
Top heater hose, the end that joins the engine just under the throttle body leaks coolant, there is a small spout for a hose to be clamped to, it has perished and broken off, it is attached with a 10mm bolt... has any 1 else had this problem and is the replacment part easily sorced???
My other problem is a transmission fluid leak right at the back of the tranny where it connects to the tail shaft... theres like a sensor which is connected to a round thing, i removed it ( seems magnetic) as it looks like the seal has gone and this is why the fluid is leaking.
Its about 6 cm diameter, what is this part called?? and can the seal be replaced??
any help would be much appreciated
is the sensor at the back on the side of the box
if so i think you are refering to the speedo pick up
there is a rubber seal that goes in there
i did price one from holden and think they were a bit pricey for a bit of rubber
i ended up putting a bit of black silastic there and it seems to have stopped my leak
yeah i think it is that its on the side of the box ,it undid with a 10mm spanner, leaked about a cup of fluid when i undid it, would any rubber o ring do that i can get from autobarn/repco?
the plastic heater hose barb that is held in buy a 10mm bolt you can get from repco -autobarn for about $20 bucks in brass part number is KC38MC hope this helps
