    Default vs auto into vr

Hi all, i have done a search but found conflicting answers.

A mate just wrote off his vs and has found a vr that has a stuffed auto.
Will the vs auto go into the vr?
In one thread it says that i will only need to change the rear extension housing and in another thread it says i will need to change the valve bodies over which has one of the electrical conectors on it.

Can anyone clarify which is correct?
I just found out he wants to do it so i havent looked at the gearboxes to see which variants they are.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers Shane

4hdd boxes have the 1 less pin,
5hdd and above has the extra pin, so it comes down to what the car has orignaly as to what needs to be done

if it needs the extra pin he needs to do the extention housing and wiring loome

thanks moff, so if the vs is the 5hdd i wont need to change anything cause the extra pin isnt needed?
i am guessing if i was going from a car with a 5hdd and wanting to use a 4hdd i would need to change the housing but since i am going the other way the extra pin wont have a wire going to it so it doesnt need to be changed.
    Is that correct?

    Cheers Shane

Count the pins in the connector maybe, I think the 4HDD has 12, 5HDD has 13.The 6HDD has 13,I know that for sure 100%.Looked at one not long ago that was out of a smashed wagon.
