Hey guys....
First of all just to let you know my key head doesn't function, I lock/unlock my car with the key itself
Yesterday I changed my whole drivers side door. Being from a different car I thought it best that I take my original handle and key barrel and install to the new door. At first all was working well, then today at the shops i jiggled the key a bit (sometimes jams a little and needs a wiggle) and it locked all the doors except the rear drivers side door because it was already wide open. So now I have a key that wont turn to the unlock position, all buttons are jammed in place, 3 locked and 1 not. The button that's up, wont go down and the buttons that are down wont come up. I have tried the key in the passenger side door but same as driver side, wont turn.
Any help is appreciated.... Thanks in advance
Correction... the buttons do move but then return to their original positions without doing any locking/unlocking

It sounds like you need a new keyfob to get the central locking up and running again. You can also try getting a new key shank (the metal part) cut, about $20 to $30.These locks seem to play up and get stuck when the lock and key gets a bit worn.I cant get my key to lock my drivers door at the moment,I usually use the deadlock feature but the key wont turn to the left in the doorlock barrel,it only turns to the right.I even got another key cut and it made no difference at all.The key will turn the other way though and unlock the doors if they are locked wth the remote.I looked at the locking mechanism and sprayed some wd 40 on it, but no difference,it looks like it might be one of these rare occasions when a visit to the holden dealer is needed as I want to keep my original key.Otherwise Id just go to the wreckers and get another lock barrel and matching key and swap them over.If you dont mind using a different key to open the door, then just swap over the door lock barrel with one you got from the other door and get hold of the key from the car the new door came from.

Brett - sounds like your problem is the microswitch that the key lock actuates when turned to the left....it can corrode solid or the arm that contacts it can move.
The OP might try disconnecting the battery then try it again.

Yeah I did notice this switch and assumed it was to do with the dead lock feature. It is behaving as though this is or at least close to the problem. I used a paper clip and bridged 2 of the contacts at the loom end (c/locking plug) and all other doors in the car opened, however the drivers door is still locked shut. When I lock the passenger door with the key after doing this it "deadlocks" again and wont open until I short it again. I have taken the handle off (drivers side) and the key/barrel/locking mechanisms all seem to work fine. Have used these with no worries (the same microswitch and loom too) for the last 2 years. Is the BCM confused and thinking it should be deadlocking by default? Sounds silly I know, lol. Are you saying that if I disconnect the battery it will reset something and maybe help my issue? Will try that and let you know how it goes. Have tried also disconnecting the microswitch. Will see how it goes. Worried about getting bum jabbed by my handbrake climbing in and out, LOL.
theres one microswitch on the door handle for deadlocked position so the central locking knows its deadlocked then theres others deaper down to lock and unlock one must be jambed up
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

yeah thats the deadlock one not the one that makes the doors lock

OK... I have found the problem....
After much stuffing around and whatever I took the locking actuator out of the old door and plugged it in... woohoo, it worked. So I switched em around and no worries. When I took the one out of the replacement door it was a different colour(blue) than the original one I had(black). The part numbers are different too. I checked with the person I got the door from and was told the door came from a Berlina... Not sure witch but I am guessing that either the two aren't cross compatible with the BCMs or the actuator is just stuffed.
Either way, fixed and working.... Cheers for the help.
