Has the air and fuel filters been changed lately? They could be getting blocked up.Make sure the engine oil and the oil filter are changed regularly, also change the auto transmission filter(which you can do yourself easily enough if you have ramps or stands).I found my car ran heaps better when I first got it after doing these simple things. It seemed sluggish too. Also seeing that it happens when its cold, check the temperature sensor that tells the ECU the ambient temperature so it can make the engine run properly when its cold,It might not be stuffed completely, but might be sending the wrong temperature readings to the ECU when its cold.Maybe try replacing the temperature sensor.I think they are only cheap.Try to use genuine holden sensors if possible.

let your car run for a little bit longer then, if your planning on keeping it and dont want blown head gaskets in future you should let it run until temp gauge starts to move.

could be the MAF sensor on the air intake , might need a clean with the maf spray cleaner. or the sensor may be stuffed. with the engine running you can try disconnecting the MAF plug , and see if that makes engine run worse , if there is no change how the engine runs with the MAF plug off, that may tell you the sensor is bad. just a thought .
