I drive a vs exec ii and im getting a strange gurgling fluid like sound from behind the cluster ....guessing its got to do with the air con....any advice/suggestions???
It is probably air trapped in the heater core.Try turning the heater on to the hot position for a while whilst driving and see if the noise stops or if it makes any difference.Ive read of a few people on here that have had the same thing happen.Im not sure how they fixed it though.
cheers ill give this a try tomorrow!!
It may also be to do with refrigerant evaporating in the (you guessed it) evaporater - this will only be heard after switching off...but if it's happening whilst the engine is running then Brett's suggestion looks to be the go. You loosen the bleeder screw located on top of the thermostat housing to release trapped air with the engine idling and heater ON.

yeah its whilst im driving....engine idling meaning in neutral im guessing yes?? i no shit all about cars lol. where is the thermostat housing and is the bleeder screw obvious or am i looking for something in particular??? v6 3.8l. im guessing when i get to it, if it is the problem im gonna hear the air coming out?
There is a "how-to" on bleeding air in the "how-to" section, but first try turning the temp dial to HOT then go for a short run as this can also remove any trapped air from the heater. I'd also check the coolant level in the radiator - do this when the engine is cold - remove the cap off the right hand side of the radiator (facing car). This must be full. Also make sure the coolant overflow tank is half full of coolant.
If you plan on fixing your car yourself (and saving heaps of $$$$), I'd suggest you buy a Gregorys workshop manual - they sell for about $50 new but you can pick them up 2nd hand on Ebay for lots less. It will pay for itself pretty soon plus you get the satisfaction of fixing the car yourself.
Good Luck.

what brand of coolant would you suggest??
I usually use Nulon concentrate in the 5 litre containers - that will make up to 10 litres of coolant with a life of 3 years - it's about $35 at most stores. The coolant from Holden is also good but costs a bit more. Whatever you use, make sure it says on the container that it's suitable for V6's as there are a lot of cheap coolants that only contain coloured water.
Good Luck.
