Hi all hoping some1 can help first i rebuilt my series 2 engine in my vr 3.8
it was running and out of nowhere just stopped ,and wouldnt start sounded like timing pulled a few things off and found i had placed the magnet incorrectly and it broke ,so replaced magnet and chain sprocket made sure evrything was lined up again and tried turning over ....NOTHING
JUST POPPING sound -now im really at my wits end with it if some1 can help it would be greatly appreciated ive tried looking it up but IM LOST

Is there spark when the engine is wound over?
ive also replaced the sensor on front of the timing cover replaced crank angel sensor i just tryed to start again it didnt pop this time but wouldnt fire
Try disconnecting the battery for a minute or two to reset the ECU.
You might also have to disconnect the fuel line at the engine bay to see if fuel is getting up to the engine.Can you hear the fuel pump prime for 2 seconds when the key is turned to the ON position?
ok done the battery NO CHANGE
also done fuel its fine and checked the fuel pump all is ok
BUT CAR STILL WONT START
Maybe the injectors arent injecting fuel into the engine.Or the fuel pressure is to low for them to run.If you get someone else to wind over the engine you should be able to hear the injectors clicking.Put a long screwdriver on one of the injectors and put the handle up to your ear if you cant hear it properly.Check each one.

with the injectors do i put the screwdriver on the rail or the injectors

Yep,put the screwdriver on the plastic injector body itself.Try each one to make sure they are all working.A number?

did ya buy a brand new battery or did ya just charge your old 1? prolly dead battery
If theres fuel,spark and compression it should go, One of the 3 is not right.Its likely to be fuel or spark.Unless the engine itself has major problems.
does any1 have a diagram of the timing ? im sure its all together right all timing gear was lined up im wondering about computer or the control modual under the dash ?
also do i need new gaskets to replace injectors?
You will need new o ring seals for the injectors if you remove them.Id get a workshop manual if you dont have one,A gregorys brand one is the way to go if you cant get hold of a factory one.They are well worth it.Especially when troubleshooting problems like yours.
